And the 25-year-old Premier League striker achieved it with sensational style, registering 16 goals in eight World Cup qualifying matches - scoring in every match in each of those matches.
This establishes him as the leading goalscorer in 2026 World Cup qualification in all continents.
Moreover, his country's 4-1 win against Italy on Sunday, where Haaland scored twice, guarantees they'll be playing in next summer's World Cup in North America.
Haaland, speaking following the match: "I'm happy, but more relieved. There's a lot of pressure and stuff, and I sense it. But it's exciting."
This represents only their fourth World Cup, and their premier global event since Euro 2000.
The striker's scoring statistics for Norway is truly extraordinary.
He has hit 55 goals in 48 matches for Norway.
Additionally he is only the sixth player ever, and the initial one in over five decades, to score 50 goals in less than 50 appearances.
Norway's previous highest scorer was 33-goal Jorgen Juve, who held that record for almost a century.
In these qualifiers he netted 16 strikes - in eight matches - plus two assists.
This amounts to double the goal count any competitor has registered in European qualifying.
He is the leading goalscorer in these qualifiers in every region, even in regions where teams play twice as more games.
Beyond a full year has passed since Haaland previously didn't score in a match for his country.
But it is not solely about one player.
Team leader Martin Odegaard, 26, has greater goal contributions than any competitor in European qualifying - seven.
The Gunners playmaker has played 67 times for Norway since making his debut at the young age of 15.
"Pair Haaland's achievements with the truth that in this period we also have Martin Odegaard," commented a Norwegian journalist.
