The KPop Demon Hunters Series Balloons to Take Center Stage at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
As Thanksgiving approaches, the selection of giant inflatables for the 99th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has been unveiled. Enthusiasts of the animated hit KPop Demon Hunters have a special reason to celebrate, as fan-favorite mascots Derpy Tiger and Sussie are set to appear as giant balloons.
The parade is held each year in the heart of New York, featuring a diverse array of inflatable figures from various pop-culture franchises. Previous appearances have included everything from SpongeBob SquarePants and Scooby-Doo to anime favorites like Dragon Ball and One Piece.
Introducing the Characters: Sussie and Derpy Tiger
Derpy Tiger and Sussie appear throughout the hit animated show KPop Demon Hunters. In the story, the group Huntr/x is a popular musical act by day and a team of demon slayers by night, harnessing their musical power to repair the Honmoon and shield humanity from invading demons. Similar to Huntr/x and the Saja Boys, these mascots have won the hearts of fans worldwide and are expected to be a memorable highlight for families and fans alike during the parade.
A Stellar Year for KPop Demon Hunters
One could easily claim that this year has belonged of KPop Demon Hunters. This animated feature from Sony has soared to the top as the most-watched film on Netflix, received five nominations at the Grammys, and the singing stars behind Huntr/x—Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira), and Rei Ami (Zoey)—gave a live performance on a popular television program, presenting a stunning spectacular act.
Adding to the excitement, Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami are set to perform live during the Thanksgiving Day festivities. Viewers can look forward to a show-stopping musical number from the group.
Future Plans for the Franchise?
An upcoming sequel, KPop Demon Hunters 2, is said to be in the works, with a expected debut in the year 2029.
