The rugby star gained 20 international appearances for the Kiwis before changing allegiance to the Samoan team.
The NRL's governing body has declared that players who sign with the “rebel” R360 competition will be barred for a decade.
The proposed competition, which plans to launch in October 2026, is seeking to lure players from union and league with lucrative deals and a condensed game calendar.
Leading rugby league players have reportedly been approached by R360, which will feature six or eight men's sides and four women's teams located in major cities worldwide.
The Samoan the player, who plays for his NRL club in the NRL, has confirmed he has had talks with the breakaway league.
Ryan Papenhuyzen, Lomax, Payne Haas and Jye Gray are also reported to be thinking about signing R360.
Several leading union teams, such as Australia, earlier announced a restriction on R360 recruits playing global fixtures.
“We heard our clubs and we've responded strongly,” said the league's chief V'Landys.
“Sadly, there will always be organizations that attempt to hijack our code for economic benefit.
“They don't invest in talent pipelines or the development of talent. They merely capitalize on the hard work of others, putting players at risk of monetary damage while profiting themselves.
“Essentially, they are, copying the game.”
R360 is established by ex-England star Tindall and backed by commercial backers.
Following the prospective union prohibitions were revealed recently, it commented: “We want to work together as part of the global rugby calendar.
“The competition is structured with tailored timetables for both genders and we will permit participants for test matches, as included in their agreements.”
The breakaway group will seek approval for its proposals from the international authority, rugby union's regulatory group, at its board session next year.
