Prince William plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Brazil next month, according to the royal household.
Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday night at a gathering ahead of the climate summit, which is scheduled to take place in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.
The royal pair were participating in the Natural History Museum reception, marking an rare public appearance together at a pre-COP30 gathering arranged together with the United Kingdom administration.
The King has been a consistent supporter of protecting nature - and the Prince of Wales has inherited the mission, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be taking place in South America preceding the UN meeting.
Official representatives have described William's involvement at the next COP as stepping up an important role in "environmental negotiations".
The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the official car, were introduced to guests including environmentalists, researchers, environmental activists, foreign representatives and government officials.
This participation featured addresses alongside President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic and other international figures at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco in recent months.
The UN meeting will coincide with the the royal's climate innovation prizes, which will conclude in Rio de Janeiro the day before he participates in the climate conference on the sixth of November.
Last week the royal figure referred to the Earthshot finalists as "modern-day pioneers".
King Charles has been a prominent presence at earlier environmental conferences, delivering the inaugural speech in Dubai for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the statement: "The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth".
"I have spent a substantial portion of my life trying to raise awareness about the critical dangers facing us over global warming, global temperature increases and species extinction," the monarch informed participants.
