LeBron James to Miss Opening of National Basketball Association Season because of Sciatica.
James began his career with the Cleveland team in 2003.
The Lakers superstar has been ruled out for approximately a month and is confirmed to miss the start of the basketball season because of sciatica, Lakers announced.
LeBron James, 40, signed a new contract with the LA team in June of this year and is poised to be the initial competitor to participate across 23 separate NBA seasons.
Sciatic pain refers to discomfort in the nerve that travels down the lower back and through the leg.
James did not participate in pre-season and missed the defeats against the Golden State and the Suns recently because of the nerve issue.
The American is expected to be sidelined for every one of the five of the Lakers' games in October, which includes the season-opener against Golden State.
The star, the highest points scorer in history, has always been present for the beginning of the NBA year in his two-decade-plus career.
The number of 1,562 matches participated in is merely 50 less than surpassing former Celtics star Robert Parish's league record.
The title winner appeared in 70 out of the team's eighty-two games last season and played on 71 matches in the previous year.
The previous season, the player averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists per game and 7.8 rebounds per game and placed sixth in the MVP vote.
Los Angeles Lakers reached the postseason in last season but fell four games to one against the Minnesota in the first round.
