The distinguished English actor Dame Helen, previously winner of an Academy Award, multiple Bafta awards, Golden Globe wins, multiple Emmy accolades, along with a Tony Award, is poised to add another esteemed prize to her shelf: the DeMille Globes' lifetime achievement award.
Dame Helen, octogenarian, previously made a dame in 2003 and named a BAFTA fellow back in 2014, will pick up the award at an event January 8, just prior to the main Golden Globes occur, during a program described by the organization as the Golden Eve event.
Also part of the event will be the presentation of the Globes’ Carol Burnett award for small-screen contributions, the honoree for which is still to be revealed. Previous recipients included Viola Davis along with Ted Danson.
“Dame Helen represents a powerhouse performer, with a career is absolutely extraordinary,” stated the Golden Globes president, Helen Hoehne. “Her transcendent performances and devotion to her art constantly motivate generations of artists and viewers as well. We are deeply honored to present her with this lifetime achievement honor.”
