Emma Raducanu concludes the current season and will keep coach for 2026.

Emma Raducanu in action during a tennis match

The British player reached the third round in three out of four major tournaments during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments of the year as a result of a health issue that has affected her for the last week and a half.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to regain her health prior to beginning next year's training.

These plans will involve coach Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the deciding set versus Zhu due to a lower back issue that has affected her at times this year.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points then was defeated by American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

She secured 28 matches this year and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route then falling in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in in the coming months.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
