Analysis has found that approximately 90 aircraft journeys connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein reportedly arrived at and departed from UK airfields, with some reportedly having onboard British women who assert they were exploited by the found guilty sex offender.
The travel manifests were among thousands of court documents and files released by Epstein’s estate that have been made public over the past year. The analysis uncovered 87 flights connected to Epstein – encompassing many that were hitherto undisclosed – landing or taking off from UK airports between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Unnamed female passengers were listed among the travelers entering and exiting the UK. Notably, 15 of these flights involving the UK occurred subsequent to Epstein’s 2008 guilty verdict for soliciting sex from a child.
“This is ‘appalling’ that there had never been a ‘full-scale UK investigation’ into his activities in the country,” said US lawyers acting for numerous Epstein survivors.
Evidence from one of the British victims aided the conviction of Epstein’s accomplice socialite Ghislaine Maxwell of sex trafficking of minors in the US in 2021. Yet, that individual has not received any contact by police in the UK, as stated by her Florida-based lawyer.
In a response, the the Met stated they had “not received any further information that would support reopening the probe.” They noted, “If fresh and pertinent information be presented to us, encompassing any resulting from the release of material in the US, we will review it.”
A bill to release every document held by the American government in relation to Epstein was approved by the House and Senate last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to follow through. Hundreds of thousands of files are anticipated to be made public.
Additionally, a federal judge ruled last week that the department could make public evidence from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime confidante, who is currently serving a 20-year jail term over the charges.
